The Beaver gets a Spring 2011 release; 1st photo and plot revealed

Well this comes as something of a shock. I had expected that The Beaver, which stars Mel Gibson as a guy who finds a beaver puppet(get your mind out of the gutter) and begins talking solely through it, would die a quiet death or end up on DVD shelves without ever seeing a theatrical release. The Jodie Foster directed flick had a ton of good buzz, particularly because the script was at the top of the Black List a couple of years ago, but it's been shelved because Mel Gibson's name is shit right now.  I guess Summit Entertainment has decided to take a gamble because they've slotted the film for a Spring 2011 release.

We also got the first official photo for the film, as well as a plot synopsis. It must be Beaver Christmas or something. I'm sure you've noticed the photo above already(if not, might I suggest Lasik?), but you check out the plot below!

Two-time Academy Award® winner Jodie Foster directs and co-stars with two-time Academy Award® winner Mel Gibson in THE BEAVER – an emotional story about a man on a journey to re-discover his family and re-start his life.

Plagued by his own demons, Walter Black was once a successful toy executive and family man who now suffers from depression. No matter what he tries, Walter can’t seem to get himself back on track…until a beaver hand puppet enters his life.
