Blue Valentine's release date moved up 2 days

After all the crap Blue Valentine has had to go through to secure a favorable rating from the MPAA, I think it deserved the best chance to be successful. With that in mind, The Weinstein Company has moved up the release date for the Ryan Gosling/Michelle Williams drama by two days to December 29th. The plan is give it a decent head start on the New Year's weekend.  After debuting in only New York and LA, one more theater will be added in Gotham on the 31st. It will then expand to 10 markets on January 7th, including our own nation's capital.

Blue Valentine debuted nearly a year ago at the Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews, but was slapped with the deadly NC-17 rating by the MPAA due to basically one rather intense sexual scene. The rating was reversed on appeal, and the controversy has definitely put the film on people's radars. In case you haven't seen it already, check out the trailer below. I can't wait for this one.
