Trailer Time: Ip Man 2, starring Donnie Yen and Sammo Hung

The trailer for Ip Man 2, based on the life of legendary martial arts master Yip Man, has been released. Following up the critically acclaimed 2008 film, Donnie Yen stars as the Wing Chun master as he attempts to bring his art out to the public. This film chronicles his attempts to find students while simulanteously going toe-to-toe with the masters of rival schools looking to close his doors forever.

The original intent was to have the sequel focus on Yip Man's relationship with his most famous student, Bruce Lee, but since they were unable to secure his life's rights for use, Lee only appears very briefly as a child. Bummer.  Donnie Yen is on record saying that this film "will become a classic, bettering the first". Strong words.

Ip Man will hopefully be released here in the States on April 29th, 2011. Keep your fingers crossed! Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think!
