actor has spent the last few years playing what I think are variations on the same role, the obnoxious hefty sidekick character, and I pretty much thought that was all he would do. Then he impressed me greatly doing something a little different in Cyrus last year, and then he made the jump into screenwriting with his upcoming 21 Jump Street 
remake. Hey, good for him. His biggest career move yet appears to be on the horizon, as THR reports Hill is set to make his directorial debut with The Kitchen Sink. It's a pretty ambitious project to be sure. A mix of horror, sci-i, and comedy elements, the film centers around "teenagers of the zombies and vampire variety who must all band together and suppress their urge to kill each other long enough to repel an alien invasion." Sounds like something out of the Edgar Wright camp. I'm completely down for this one.
The script by Oren Uziel was so good that it found it's way on the 2010 Black List, so expectations for this film are already running very high. Uziel as you might recall is also the guy scripting the online Mortal Kombat series. Make of that what you will.
As the name implies, they're throwing everything but the kitchen sink into this story. With so many elements involved this could be a tough first undertaking for Hill, so I'll be curious to see how this plays out. The tone is described as "The Breakfast Club
" meets "Zombieland
". How awesome does that sound? I wonder if there'll be zombie Saturday detention?
