fan. Mortal Kombat always seemed like it was more flash than substance, content to portray graphic violence rather than construct a worthwhile fighting system. Yes, that's me channeling my inner video game freak. But I have to admit to really digging the Mortal Kombat movie from 1995. At least initially. It doesn't hold up so well, but there's no denying how cool it was the first time I saw Liu Kang on screen. The sequel and subsequent attempts to revive the franchise haven't turned out so well.That was until Kevin Tancharoen put together a short film that served as a reimagining of the Mortal Kombat world. ) as Jax, this version was less fantasy, more gritty and real world. It sparked the attention of everyone who ever wanted to see Mortal Kombat reborn in a big way, ultimately leading to the announcement of a digital series to be featured on Machinima.com beginning on April 12th.
