Marvel studios president, Kevin Feige, spilled the beans to D23 the Disney fan magazine about the future of Marvel especially good ole' Cap. Here's the meat and potatoes;
Thor will go off into a new adventure, and CaptainAmerica will continue to explore the modern world in another film of his own. We hope that holds true for the characters appearing in that film — Black Widow, Hawkeye, and the spy organization, S.H.I.E.L.D. —all of whom are more than worthy and capable of carrying their own films.
And, we’ve got a lot of other characters we’re prepping and getting ready for film debuts: the world of martial arts, these great cosmic space fantasies, Dr. Strange, and the magic side of the Marvel Universe. There are many, many stories to be mined.
This is quite interesting, hopefully they don't go full bore and make independent movies for each of the hero's as some are left better as side characters and we don't want to go into Marvel overload. More interesting is the trend toward the magical, as soon as Thor was announced I wondered how they would conquer the mystical Asgard on celluloid. I mean some things that work in a comic book don't translate well to the moving picture....there is the possibility that anything "magical" could just come off as silly. We'll have to wait and see how it pans out in Thor before we even begin to think Dr. Strange. The part that REALLY piqued my interest was the mention of martial arts. The only name that popped up when hearing that was of course Iron Fist, a guy who is more than deserving of his own movie and given the money behind it could merit some of the best wire fighting martial arts scenes to hit the screen yet!
