Franco joins 21 Jump Street; Johnny Depp to cameo?

Nothing against James Franco, but the guy is getting a bit over exposed, don't you think? While everything he does is at least interesting, it's like his face is everywhere lately. Your Highness might have been the tipping point for a lot of folks in that regard. But who we haven't seen very much of is his younger brother, Dave Franco. Deadline reports that he's just signed on to play the drug dealing cool kid in the 21 Jump Street remake, starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.

Franco hasn't had nearly the impact of his Oscar nominated bro, but he's carved out a decent career appearing in movies like Superbad, Greenberg, Milk(alongside James), and Charlie St. Cloud.

But what would a remake of a popular 80s TV series be without a cameo from one of the original stars? The A-Team did it. Starsky and Hutch did it. And now the rumors are starting to swirl that Johnny Depp may be popping in for a brief appearance, which would only make sense since 21 Jump Street is really what brought him into the spotlight. It hasn't been confirmed yet, so we'll just have to wait and see. Kinda makes me wonder if directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will reach out to some of the other cast members like Holly Robinson-Peete(yum!!), Dustin Nguyen, and Richard Grieco(!!).
