They're going to be at this for awhle, folks. Gary Ross and company are dilligently casting the nearly two dozen Tributes competing in The Hunger Games, the adaptation of Suzanne Collins' popular novel. Lately it's been mostly unknown who have filled out the ranks, with the exception of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark. Today we got two more kiddies I couldn't pick out of a police line-up, with Ethan Jamieson and Tara Macken set to play the District 4 Tributes. Seeing as how neither has a name, you can guess just how much of a fight they put up.
But beyond that there is some very interesting news coming from Vulture about the non-Tribute characters. Those would be mostly adults, and so actors we've actually heard of are being considered. They report that offers have been sent to Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci and...Lenny Kravitz??? Harrelson has been offered the role of Head Gamemaker, Seneca Crane. Tucci and Kravitz's roles are unidentified at this time, but I could see Kravitz as a possible Cinna? Cinna is Katniss and Peeta's stylist for the Games, who becomes something of a confidant and mentor. He's quiet and charismatic, but protective of Katniss. I think he'd be a spot on choice.
And lastly, Elizabeth Banks has finally been confirmed to play Effie Trinket. Whoo hah!
