Witchy Woman Rachel Weisz is the villainess in Oz: The Great and Powerful
Rachel Weisz could never be evil. She's too beautiful. Or if she were I'd be inclined to look at things from her perspective out of being so smitten. Kinda like how Paul Rudd was taken by her in The Shape of Things, even though she was a callous snot. Weisz hasn't spent a lot of time in big budget flicks, but she's about to tackle one of the most iconic franchises ever as THR reports she'll play the evil witch Evanora in Sam Raimi's Oz: The Great and Powerful.
The prequel(?) already features James Franco as Oz, a slick talkin' illusionist who is whisked away to the magical land where he encounters the witches we all know and love. Mila Kunis is Theodora, a good witch who is seduced to evil by her older sister after her sexual advances towards Oz are rejected.
That leaves only one witch left to cast, the good witch Glinda. The studio had been haggling over a few names for the last couple of roles, namely Michelle Williams, Hilary Swank, Amy Adams, Keira Knightley, and a couple of others. Maybe one of them will fill the void?
