With shooting on Rupert Sanders' Snow White and the Huntsman set to begin soon, casting has been going fast and furious over the last few days. Ian McShane, Stephen Graham, Eddie Izzard, Toby Jones, Ray Winstone, Eddie Marsan, and Bob Hoskins all joined this week alone. Now two more have been added to the ranks: model turned actress Lily Cole and Brit actor Sam Spruell.
The film is a reimagining of the classic fairy tale, veering off in a different direction when the evil queen(Charlize Theron) sends Eric the Huntsman(Chris Hemsworth) to kill Snow White(Kristen Stewart). Rather than killing her, he decides to run off with her and train her to fight. Sam Claflin(Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
) is the Prince. Cole will play a character named Gretel. Spruell is Finn, sent off to kill both the Huntsman and Snow White. Lily Cole most recently had a small but memorable role in Roland Joffe's There Be Dragons. Spruell is probably best recognized from the films Defiance
and Elizabeth: The Golden Age
