Even though Bradley Cooper just
signed up to star alongside Ryan Gosling in
The Place Beyond the Pines, his next film will probably be
The Words, a thriller where he'll play a "successful writer who has to pay a price for stealing" the work of another. The film marks the directorial debut of
Tron: Legacy
scribes Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal, and it looks like for they want to bring a piece of their most successful film along for the ride.
Variety reports that Olivia Wilde, who starred as Quorra in the sci-fi sequel last year, has joined the cast in a key but unspecified role.
JK Simmons(
Juno
), Ben Barnes(
Prince Caspian
),
and Nora Arnezeder(
Paris 36
) have signed on as well, bulking up a cast that is looking mighty impressive. Jeremy Irons plays the writer who gets screwed royally by Cooper's character. Dennis Quaid is another writer who factors in somewhere. And there's reportedly a spot for Zoe Saldana which hasn't been made clear yet, either.
Although it's difficult to gauge exactly the type of tone this movie's going for, the assembled cast makes it pretty irrelevant. On paper The Words appears to be one that needs to be kept an eye on as a potential sleeper.
