Sure Shots: The Coen Brothers; Fast and Furious 6; Emma Stone turns down Pride & Prejudice & Zombies

* What was the last great movie about the folk music scene? Probably A Mighty Wind, which was basically one long hilarious parody. The Coen Brothers are looking to change that with their next project, reportedly based on the 1960s NYC folk music scene, based in part on the memoir  The Mayor of MacDougal Street by Dave van Ronk. Van Ronk, a big part of the Greenwich Village folk revival was a close assoicate of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and many others. The film may be shot in a naturalistic 16mm style and feature live music throughout.

* Fast Five has earned nearly $600M worldwide at this point and is still tearing up some theaters right this moment, and we knew that a script was already being put together for the sixth film in the street racing franchise by regular writer Chris Morgan. The rumor is that Morgan will shift the storylines further into heist territory, which is a good idea. While all of this is still pretty early, we now know when the film will hit theaters: May 24th 2013 aka Memorial Day. Start your engines, folks.

*  Short and sweet: Deadline reports that Emma Stone has turned down the role of Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. She was offered the gig just a couple of days ago.
