Chris Rock and Anna Kendrick in labor for What to Expect When You're Expecting

Chris Rock...y'know, I can sorta expect this from him. But you, Anna Kendrick? I'm truly disappointed. Deadline reports that both have joined the cast of What to Expect When You're Expecting, another one of those silly "self help" books that keep getting made into movies lately. It's based on a friggin' pregnancy guide by Heidi Murkoff and Sharon Mazel, and simply put the title says it all in regards to the plot.

Actually, that's not true. There is a story that somebody has created in the same way babies create loads of poo. Brooklyn Dekker, most recently the apple of Adam Sandler's eye in Just Go With It, is a woman about to have twins, which drives her childless friends nuts. Kendrick is a food truck owner(???) who runs into an old flame during some sort of foot truck competition. Really?? This sounds like a joke. Chris Rock is an obviously experienced daddy who feels the need to ready other expectant dads on the realities of fatherhood. He's the Daddy Whisperer. Jennifer Lopez, Isla Fisher, and Cameron Diaz are in as well, and the rapidly expanding cast of chicks is giving me He's Just Not That Into You flashbacks. Kirk Jones(Everybody's Fine, Waking Ned Devine) is directing.

The book was first published in 1984, and has been running steady ever since, recently in it's fourth edition. It's been criticized for causing paranoia and saddling women with unlikely dietary guidelines. That's nothing compared to all the pound dropping vomit guys will spew when they're inevitably dragged to see this. I'm paranoid about it already.
