Amy Adams to replace Sandra Bullock in Trouble with the Curve
The next couple of years for Amy Adams are the sort that any actress would kill for. Coming off her Academy Award nomination for The Fighter, she hasn't slowed down one bit or rested on her laurels. She'll show off her comedic chops next week with The Muppets, and in a little over a year she'll play Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. What's going on between then? She'll star in The Master for director Paul Thomas Anderson; On the Road for Walter Salles; and the capper looks to be a chance to work opposite a legend in Clint Eastwood.
With Sandra Bullock pulling out of starring opposite Eastwood in Trouble with the Curve, Amy Adams and Reese Witherspoon emerged as likely replacements. Now Variety reports that Adams has won out, with an offer officially sent her way. The studio had been considering her from the start, so this seems like a natural fit for them. The problem with Bullock turned out to be her hectic schedule, a hurdle which also plagues Adams.
If she does wind up signing, she'll play the daughter to Eastwood's character, an aging baseball scout who is slowly going blind. He goes off on one last scouting trip with his daughter in order to check out a prized prospect. Eastwood's friend and long time producing partner, Robert Lorenz, is directing. [Variety]
