Don't get it twisted, this Safe couldn't be further from Todd Phillips' great 1995 film starring Julianne Moore. No, this one features Jason Statham. That should be all you need to know about it. It's Statham being Statham, which means he's cracking skulls and taking names. Would we ever want to see him do anything different? That's been tried before to less than successful results, like in London.
Written and directed by Boaz Yakin(Fresh, Remember the Titans), Statham is yet another ass kicking elite agent, who finds himself protecting a little Asian girl wanted by the cops, Russians, Triads, and all sorts of other unscrupulous factions. Why? She seems to be the only one who can crack a special code which they all need. Looks like pretty standard Jason Statham stuff. I'm down. Safe will open next year on March 2nd, but peep the trailer now....
