'On the Road' character posters for Amy Adams, Alice Braga, and Elisabeth Moss

While I'm out of the country for the next week, I'll still pop in occasionally for things that catch my eye. One of those things that has impressed me over the last couple of weeks have been the character posters featuring the supporting cast of On the Road, based on the Jack Kerouac road trip novel.

We've seen two already, one with Viggo Mortensen as Old Bull Lee, and Tom Sturridge as Carlo Marx aka the poet Allen Ginsberg. Now come three more with some of the lovely ladies in this amazing cast. As with all the characters in the novel and film, they are basically analogues of Kerouac's closest Beat Generation colleagues. Amy Adams plays Jane, aka Joan Vollmer, roommate to Edie Parker and the future common law wife of William S. Burroughs(Mortensen). Braga plays Terry, aka Bea Franco, a Mexican woman who becomes a confidante and letter writing companion to Kerouac. Moss, best known for her regular gig on Mad Men, plays Galatea Dunkel, aka Helen Hinkle, a lifelong Beat Generation friend.

I'm guessing they're holding the big guns, Kristen Stewart, Sam Riley, and Garrett Hedlund for last. No release date for the film yet, but it's looking good for Cannes in May.
