New Superman logo revealed!

Ok, this is a little late I know but while Travis is away John will spend the first day trying to make sure he doesn't double post anything.

On to the news, it looks like the last son of Krypton was feeling a bit left out among the blitzkrieg of blockbuster movie marketing we've been seeing since the Superbowl. What does that mean for us you ask? Well, a teaseriffic logo is my reply. I'm really not sure what's so big about it, honestly it looks like a discolored version of the Superman Returns logo. That being said it does make us look back to the set pictures that came out a while back of Henry Cavill in suit and on set. While I'm not a fan of releasing something that was done in a day on photoshop and making a big deal of it I do think that this movie could do for Superman what Batman Begins did for the Dark Knight. Let's look at the people behind it, Zack Snyder directing, David S. Goyer (Blade, The Dark Knight) writing the story, and Chris Nolan producing. That should be enough to hype you up but just to add to it they are using the DC New 52 version of Superman. That is the biggest trump card for a Superman we can enjoy watching among other things Superman has a new costume, is less of a goody two shoes and most importantly he can be injured. Ask any comic fan, they will eagerly let you know that invulnerability quickly became his achilles heel in terms of storytelling. Now, whether or not that will all be jarring to the average moviegoer is still to be seen. I suppose it is possible that while the story will be more palatable people may not like that the ideal for absolute goodness has gone a little Batman. Man of Steel is scheduled to hit theaters on June 14th, 2013.
