'Bullet to the Head' delayed so Sylvester Stallone can have final cut
Bullet to the Head isn't just another action movie for Sylvester Stallone. As the unquestioned star and driving creative force, he's already pushed his weight around forcing out the previous director, Wayne Kramer(The Cooler), when their visions for it didn't quite match up. Bringing in veteran Walter Hill(The Warriors) to take over, production seemed to proceed along smoothly. An April 13th release date was set, but all of a sudden last week the film disappeared from the release schedule.
Twitch has learned the cause of the delay falls on Stallone's shoulders, as production waits for him to have final cut of the film. At one point last year he did a rewrite on the script by Alessandro Camon(The Messenger) , so his involvement in the completed product shouldn't come as a surprise.
Still, there's no new release date although November is being looked at. The film features Stallone as an aging New Orleans hitman who pairs up with a New York cop(Sung Kang) to take down the man who killed their partners. Sarah Shahi, Jason Momoa, Christian Slater, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jon Sega, and Holt McCallany co-star.
