Dwayne Johnson in talks for another 'Journey'; Josh Hutcherson to return

It was only a couple of days ago we learned that New Line wasn't wasting any time getting a sequel to this year's unquestioned smash hit, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. Buffeted by the popping pecs of Dwayne Johnson, the film has already earned more than $270M worldwide and doesn't seem to be slowing down. While the first film with Brendan Fraser was a success, it's been Johnson who has made this a franchise with real sustainability, so would they even consider going ahead without him?

Apparently not, as TheWrap reports Johnson has entered talks to reprise his role in the sequel, which brings back director Brad Peyton with screenwriters Brian and Mark Gunn.  Josh Hutcherson, who has been in both movies so far, is also expected to return. There was some doubt since both he and Johnson have seen their profiles raise dramatically over the last few months, which probably means New Line will have to shell out some serious dough to keep them.

No word on who else from the cast will return. Look for Journey 3 to arrive some time in 2014.
