The Iceman has gone through the casting revolving door since it was first announced, once boasting Benicio Del Toro and James Franco as two of the leads. However I think the film, which is based on the murderous exploits of notorious mafia hitman Richard Kuklinski, features a much more interesting cast of actors in unexpected roles. If you ever saw the HBO specials, The Iceman Tapes: Conversations with a Killer, then you know Kuklinski was one screwed up and terrifying dude, who claims to have murdered over 250 men during a 40 year career.
The latest poster features Michael Shannon as Kuklinski, looking like he's ready to bust a cap in some poor schmuck's grill. Chris Evans plays Robert Pronge, known as "Mr. Softee" because he drove an ice cream truck to hide his true nature. He taught Kuklinski how to kill people inconspicuously using things like cyanide. David Schwimmer plays fellow hitman, Josh Rosenthal. Ray Liotta plays crime boss Roy DeMeo, with Winona Ryder as Kuklinski's clueless wife.
Ariel Vroman(Danika) is directing, and we'll likely see the film some time in 2013.
