TNA Impact Wrestling's Jeff Jarrett lands a role in 'Spring Breakers'

The WWE pretty much has the market locked down when it comes to TV ratings, ticket sales, and just about any other measurement. In what has turned out to be a shrewd move, Vince McMahon opened up a whole new avenue for growth by featuring his superstars in WWE produced movies. We can argue the actual success of that venture, but the last year has seen guys like John Cena and Triple H rubbing elbows with some pretty big stars, in hopes that maybe one will catch on the way Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson did.

The only real rival the WWE has is TNA Impact Wrestling, the #2 organization in the world, and while they continue to be far behind the top dog overall, they are making some serious headway in Hollywood. Their biggest star, Kurt Angle, played the Russian MMA champion in Warrior alongside Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy. About half of their TNA Knockouts division(for the sexy lady brawlers) will be turning up in Double Fury, a martial arts pic starring Cynthia Rothrock(China O'Brien). But it's the Impact Wrestling founder, Jeff Jarrett, who has the most interesting upcoming gig of all.

Taking to his Twitter page, Jarrett revealed he's landed a role in Spring Breakers, Hamoney Korine's darkly comic film about a group of college girls who take to robbing a fast food joint to pay for their annual getaway. When they're caught, they wind up in prison only to be bailed out by a rappin' drug dealer. Played by James Franco, of course. Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Rachel Korine, and Ashley Benson will be cutting loose and ruining what little remains of their good names in the film. Jarrett's role is unclear at this point, but maybe he'll get a chance to bust Franco over the head with one of his signature guitars?
