Zoe Kazan, Emily Watson, Kristen Bell join Adam Brody in 'Some Girls'

January proved to be a busy month for Adam Brody, as he hopped aboard two upcoming projects on practically the same day. The most promising of them was Some Girls, written and produced by Neil Labute(The Shape of Things) and based on his own screenplay. While the story sounded pretty conventional, with Brody playing a guy on the verge of marriage revisiting his ex-girlfriends for some closure, Labute's biting scripts usually mean nothing plays out quite as expected.  Jennifer Gezinger(Mad Men) will direct.

With Kristen Bell joining the cast just a few days ago, two of my personal favorites have now come aboard. Emily Watson(War Horse) will play an older married woman Brody's character had an affair with. Zoe Kazan(Exploding Girl), Jennifer Morrison(House), and Mia Maestro(The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) will play the rest of Brody's ex-honeys.

Watson is an amazing actress, and it'll be interesting to see if her character is more plucky like in Punch Drunk Love or a tad harsh like in Cold Souls. Kazan uscoming off a 2011 that saw her in Meek's Cutoff and Josh Radnor's happythankyoumoreplease. [THR]
