Aw hell, here we go. Time to start getting juiced up with anticipation again! While word on Django Unchained has been relatively quiet while filming has been underway in Louisiana, it's about to start getting crazy again now that the first teaser poster has been revealed. And yeah, it's simple but extraordinary.
As we all know by now, Quentin Tarantino's film is a racially charged western about a freed slave named Django(Jamie Foxx), who teams up with a bounty hunter named Schultz(Christoph Waltz) to take on an evil plantation owner played by Leonardo Dicaprio. The poster is chock full of symbolic imagery, from the obvious chain that forms the crux of the image, but also the silhouette of what is probably Django and Schultz walking side by side, making them equals. If you look close you can also see snapped chains hanging from Django's forearms. Sweet stuff.
Opening on Christmas Day, Django Unchained features a ridiculous line-up with Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kerry Washington, Rza, Misty Upham, Don Johnson, Dennis Christopher, Walter Goggins, Anthony LaPaglia, Gerald McRaney, and that's just a part of it.
