Arnold Schwarzenegger teams with David Ayer for 'Ten'

How is it we haven't already seen action hero royalty like Arnold Schwarzenegger working with the king of gritty cop thrillers, David Ayer? The combination seems like a natural fit. The Kindergarten Cop and the guy who wrote Training Day! What could possibly go wrong? We'll find out because the two are pairing up for the first time for...what else...a cop thriller.

Titled simply Ten, the film follows an elite DEA task force who steal millions from a drug cartel, only to find themselves getting taken down one by one just as they think they got away with it. Ayer, who previously directed Street Kings and Harsh Times, will be behind the camera. The script comes from Skip Woods(The A-Team), so I wouldn't expect this to be on the level of some of Ayer's better cop dramas like Dark Blue and Training Day. This was once a project with Bruce Willis in the lead and Patrick Alessandrin(District 13: Ultimatum) directing, so there hasn't been too drastic of a shift.

It sounds as if this will shoot when Arnie finishes up with The Tomb. Ayer's next film is End of Watch, yet another drama about the boys in blue, starring Jake Gyllenhall and Michael Pena. [THR]
