1st look at Liam Hemsworth and Dwayne Johnson in 'Empire State'

Not to be confused with Garden State, Dito Montiel's Empire State sees the director venturing away from his usual running buddy, Channing Tatum. The two collaborated on three films prior, but after the disastrous response to last year's The Son of No One, perhaps the two have decided to go their separate ways, but that hasn't stopped Montiel from pulling together another strong cast.

Dwayne Johnson and Liam Hemsworth are featured in the first images from Empire State, which is based on the real-life robbery of the Sentry Armored Car Company back in 1982. At the time it was considered the biggest cash theft in US history, totally around $11.4M.  Emma Roberts, Nikki Reed, Michael Angarano, and Jerry Ferrara co-star in the Adam Mazer(Breach) scripted thriller. I think Montiel is an underrated talent, with his first two features going a long way in molding Tatum into the actor he is now. I didn't see The Son of No One, but it never looked good even from the earliest trailers.

There's no release date at this point, but we'll likely see the film hit some time next year. [Kinopoisk via ThePlaylist]
