Everything we've seen from the Ben Stiller/Vince Vaughn comedy, The Watch, has been a hilarious combination of genres and fratboy humor. A little science fiction goes a long way, and 20th Century Fox has been smart to put the bulk of the attention on letting the stars, which also includes Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade, just hang out and shoot the sh*t.
As good as the trailers have been, especially the spectacular red band, that's how flat this first clip from the film is. With the four neighborhood watch buddies on a night time stake out at a nearby Costco, presumably investigating the alien invasion at the center of the story, the sudden urge for a bathroom break hits Vaughn. Since he can't exactly give away their position by leaving, he's forced to use whatever resources at his disposal to be....relieved.
Here's hoping the rest of the film is better than this, and that not all of the good bits were given away in previous trailers. The Watch opens on July 27th. Check out the clip below....[Yahoo!]
