3. Safety Not Guaranteed
An offbeat rom-com spliced with science fiction geekiness, Mark Duplass and Aubrey Plaza shine as two regretful people trying to secure a happy future by literally changing the past.

2. Your Sister's Sister
Mark Duplass isn't even bothering to be quiet anymore. The indie stalwart is making a lot of noise in Hollywood right now both behind and in front of the camera, and it doesn't hurt he gets to star with so many beautiful, talented women. Your Sister's Sister has him trading emotional barbs with Rosemarie DeWitt and Emily Blunt in a genuine, funny, well-observed film about three people caught in an awkward love triangle.
1. Seeking a Friend for the End of the World
What could've been a disaster is arguably the most heartfelt and endearing film of the year, as Steve Carell and Keira Knightley play two people seeking an emotional connection mere days before earth is destroyed.

DVD Pick of the Week: Project X
The wildest party movie ever, brought to us by the guy who dreamed up The Hangover. Makes perfect sense. Project X is like its younger, hipper, and more depraved little brother. Vulgar and incredibly misogenistic, the film has about zero redeeming qualities if that's what you're looking for. But for those who just want a front raw seat at the funniest and most destructive high school party ever, this is a film you'll never be able to forget.
