Trailer Time: 'Resident Evil: Retribution', starring Milla Jojovich and Michelle Rodriguez

It's been five months since the first teaser trailer for Resident Evil: Retribution, the fifth film in the improbably long-lived franchise starring Milla Jojovich. Based initially on the hit Capcom video game series, the movies have grown into something that fans will find unrecognizable. The story finds Alice(Jojovich) continuing her quest to bring the evil Umbrella Corporation to justice for unleashing the T-Virus on Earth and transforming the people into flesh eating zombies. Despite being panned by practically every critic on the planet, Resident Evil is only getting stronger, with 2010's Resident Evil: Afterlife breaking franchise records and taking some bold new steps in advancing 3D technology.

Just as the previous trailer began with a confusing, product placement-laden ad sponsored by Umbrella, this one also throws a hefty bit of misdirection our way. It begins with Alice waking up in her idyllic household, with her husband(Oded Fehr) and daughter, with the world seemingly free from the ravages of the T-virus. It all turns out to be a dream, and Alice is thrust back into the nightmarish world  she's been fighting to save all along. The film will delve further into her past than ever before, bringing back a number of long thought dead characters, including the returning Michelle Rodriguez as Rain Campo.

Paul W.S. Anderson directs, with Michelle Rodriguez, Kevin Durand, Sienna Guillory, Johann Urb, Boris Kodjoe, Colin Salmon, and Oded Fehr co-starring. Resident Evil: Retribution opens on September 14th....
