Trailer Time: 'Sinister', starring Ethan Hawke and Vincent D'Onofrio

The most buzzed about horror emerging from SXSW this year was Sinister, which marked the return of Scott Derrickson to the genre after scoring a surprise hit with 2005's The Exorcism of Emily Rose. That film won over critics and fans for combining genuine thrills with an intriguing dilemma of faith at the center, but Sinister looks to be a totally different beast. Literally.

Co-written by Derrickson and Ain't It Cool News' Robert Cargill(aka Massawyrm), the film stars Ethan Hawke as a true crime novelist who moves his family into a new home(always a major mistake), only to discover a box full of disturbing videos of previous occupants, all of whom were murdered. His investigation finds a murderous connection between the crimes and an entity which still resides in the home, consuming the souls of human children.

Vincent D'Onofrio, Clare Foley, James Ransone, and Fred Thompson co-star. Sinister will be part of the crowded horror pack this Halloween season, opening on October 5th. Check out the trailer below....[DreadCentral]
