Jessica Biel won't be in 'The Wolverine', after all
It was only a few days ago that we learned Jessica Biel was in talks to join The Wolverine, playing the duplicitous and deadly Viper. She seemed like a perfect fit, with her beauty and physicality making for a perfect match against Hugh Jackman's clawed Canadian hero. But it looks like Fox will have to look elsewhere, as Collider reports talks have broken down and Biel is no longer in the picture.
Featuring a Japanese heavy cast that includes Will Yun Lee as Silver Samurai, Hiroyuki Sanada as Lord Shingen, Tao Okamoto as Mariko Yashida, and Rila Fukushima as Yukio, the film seemed ready to begin production starting next month. Chances are the role will be filled in a few days, so this is probably just a minor delay. Hey, maybe they can get Biel's sexy Total Recall colleague, Kate Beckinsale?
Based on the classic Chris Claremont/Frank Miller storyline, The Wolverine has Logan in Japan fighting for the love of Mariko Yashida, the daughter of a Yakuza crime boss. Directed by James Mangold, the film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 26th 2013.
