With production set to being in just under a month, the cast for Harald Zwart's adaptation of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is starting to come together. Just last week, Lena Headey and Jared Harris joined the YA supernatural film, and now you can add Kevin Zegers(Frozen) to the line-up.
Based on Cassandra Clare's popular series, the film follows Clary Fray(Lily Collins), a New York teen who discovers she comes from a long line of demon fighters known as Shadowhunters. Jamie Campbell-Bower plays fellow Shadowhunter and love interest, Jace Wayland, while Kevin Durand, Robert Maillet, and Jemima West co-star. Zegers, who is probably still best known for playing Felicity Huffman's son in Transamerica, will play Alec Lightwood, the homosexual brother to West's character.
I'm sure he's done more since, but the last I heard about Zegers he was being unceremoniously dumped from that badly conceived Bonnie & Clyde film with Hilary Duff. The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones hits theaters on August 23rd 2013. [Just Jared]
