The human car crash that is Lindsay Lohan has been slowly trying to regain her edge, and stop being the tool of producers looking to sell their films on the back of tabloid celebrity. She's already wrapped up filming the buzzworthy Liz & Dick, and is currently filming The Canyons with porn star James Deen. A few weeks ago she was targeting a return to comedy with Scary Movie 5, and now today not only has she been confirmed for the long-running franchise, but another paparazzi fave looks to be joining her.
Lohan will be joined by Mr. Adonis DNA himself, Charlie Sheen, in the horror/pop culture spoof. Sheen has been around for awhile, playing Tom Logan in Scary Movie's 3 & 4, a parody of Mel Gibson's farmer character in Signs. It's unclear whether or not he'll be taking on the same role, or perhaps even turning up as himself. Lohan's character has been revealed yet, either, but she'll be starring alongside Ashley Tisdale and Erica Ash.
Such already dated flicks as Black Swan, 127 Hours, and Paranormal Activity will be spoofed this time, making this a Scary Movie that's already old and out of step. Maybe they should've released it last April as originally planned? Malcolm Lee will direct Scary Movie 5 for release on April 19th 2013. [E!]
