After premiering at Sundance(my review here), The Words is inching closer to release and has gathered a decent amount of buzz along the way. Not surprising, considering it features a stellar cast with Bradley Cooper, Coe Saldana, Olivia Wilde, Dennis Quaid, Ben Barnes, and Jeremy Irons. Cooper plays a struggling writer who discovers an incredible manuscript in an old briefcase, and passes it off as his own. Becoming an overnight success, with the world(and his girlfriend played by Saldana) at his feet, he's forced to face reality when the story's original writer turns up out of nowhere.
A new trailer for the film has been released, and it again makes sure to highlight the top notch talent. I felt the film was highly disappointing, and never really makes use of such an incredible premise, which really focuses on the personal connection writers have with their creations. Irons is fantastic, though, and if there's ever a biopic on my life I want him to narrate it.
The Words is set to open on September 7th. Check out the trailer below...
