Is it possible we're seeing Paul W. S. Anderson lay the groundwork for a passing of the torch from Milla Jojovich to another sexy female to lead future Resident Evil flicks? Based on her own words, she and Anderson have already mapped out the next two films, with next month's Resident Evil: Retribution the penultimate chapter to Alice's fight against the evil Umbrella Corporation. From what we've seen in the trailers and many of the released photos is that Alice seems to be spending a lot of time side-by-side with Ada Wong, played in the film by Li Bingbing. Could Wong, who is an equally popular character in the Resident Evil video game series, be carrying on the war once Alice is gone?
Two new international posters have been released, with one of them again having Wong and Alice in the thick of the action, racing through a bombed out city. The fifth film in the long-running franchise also appears to be hinting at some sort of major change in Alice's life, as she uncovers a secret that will force her to rethink everything she once thought was true. Michelle Rodriguez returns, along with Johann Urb, Sienna Guillory, Boris Kodjoe, Colin Salmon, and more. Resident Evil: Retribution opens on September 14th.
