Genesis Rodriguez Joins 'Tusk'; Jessica Biel and Zosia Mamet are 'Shiva and May'
Earlier this year Kevin Smith revealed he would be making a return to horror with Tusk, a film described as being similar to The Human Centipede, albeit without the upchuck-factor. With Justin Long and Michael Parks set for the two male leads, the main female role has just been snagged by gorgeous Casa de mi Padre star, Genesis Rodriguez. The unsettling film has Parks as a man who was stranded at sea for six months with a walrus. After returning home he puts out an ad for a roommate, with the only catch being that he must wear a walrus costume for two hours each day. Weird? Absolutely, but perhaps most disturbing of all is that it's based on a true story. If Tusk performs well Smith will use it to help finance Clerks 3. [Variety]
Jessica Biel and Girls star Zosia Mamet as sisters? In what alternate reality could this ever be true? Nonetheless they will play siblings in Shiva and May, about a yoga instructor (Biel), who does whatever she needs to do to protect her sex worker sister (Mamet) from her deadbeat boyfriend played by Joe Anderson. The film marks the sophomore effort by writer/director Diane Bell, whose Obselidia was a Sundance award-winner in 2010. [TheWrap]
