WWE wrestlers to appear in animated 'Scooby-Doo' set at WrestleMania
The superstars of the WWE have been animated many times, most notably in the Rock 'n Wrestling Saturday morning cartoon that was hella popular back in the 1980s. I know, because I used to watch it, and as a longtime pro wrestling fan there's a part of me that hopes the WWE brings it back when their TV Network kicks into high gear. For now, we'll have to settle for seeing the likes of Triple H, John Cena, Sin Cara, and more get animated as they help Scooby-Doo solve a mystery at WrestleMania.
Yeah, that's right. WWE Studios is teaming up with Warner Brothers for an animated film that will feature the Scooby Gang and the stars of Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown. The story has Scooby and Shaggy winning tickets to WrestleMania, so the entire gang heads off to WWE City(???) to attend the event, only to have a mysterious ghost bear threaten to interrupt the show. Hmmm...my money's on it being that evil Dolph Ziggler. He's such a heel!
Other than the three mentioned above, AJ Lee, Kane, The Miz, Brodus Clay, Santino Marella, and of course Vince McMahon will all lend their voices to the film, which will be released straight to DVD. My only question is: Where is WWE Champion CM Punk? How can you make a movie like this without your top star? Time for another pipe bomb, Punk! Look for the untitled film to hit store shelves some time in 2014.
