At this year's SXSW festival, Aeurin Barnard(Ironclad) won over the crowd with a pair of performances that couldn't have been more different. He played a teenage heartthrob opposite Minnie Driver in the Brit musical, Hunky Dory. Showing an incredible range and diversity, he would also tackle the role of a desperate, agoraphobic father in the horror-thriller, Citadel, which went on to win the Midnighter Audience Award.
Citadel was quickly snapped up by Cinedigm for distribution, and with a release just a month away we're finally getting the first full trailer. Marking Ciaran Foy's feature directorial debut, the film has Barnard playing Tommy Crowley, who is forced to take care of his newborn daughter alone after a group of hooded thugs brutally attack his wife. The assault leaves Tommy with a severe case of agoraphobia, which he must find a way to put aside when the same thugs come back looking to kidnap his child.
Citadel opens in limited release on October 19th, before hitting select cities a week later. Check out the trailer below....
