Bradley Cooper to star in mystery 'The Man from Primrose Lane'
How hot is Bradley Cooper right now? Fresh off his Oscar nomination for Silver Linings Playbook, he's so hot he can openly talk about wanting to play Lance Armstrong in a biopic, have J.J. Abrams admit to emailing him about it, and still have people believe him when he says he's never heard of any such project. Yeah, whatever dude! Suffice it to say, everyone wants to be on Cooper's good side right now, with Warner Bros. especially eager to get in the Cooper business.
Just a couple of weeks ago the studio began developing WWI thriller Dark Invasion for Cooper to star in, and now today they've secured the rights to James Renner's mystery novel, The Man from Primrose Lane for the actor to lead. The story follows David Neff, a true crime writer who begins to investigate the years-old murder of the mysterious "man with a thousand mittens", a reclusive neighbor with a dark past. Chad Sheehan(Southland) will pen the script, with Cooper producing. Presumably the search for a director is underway.
You'll soon see Cooper as one of those guys losing to Daniel Day-Lewis at the Academy Awards, and then he'll turn up in Derek Cianfrance's The Place Beyond the Pines and The Hangover Part III. [Deadline]
