"Dead or Alive, you're coming with me" New Robocop pics hit!

Awesome Fan Poster by InvisiblePredator @ DeviantArt

As the caption states, the above is a fan poster...also it is exhibit A as to why studios should start outsourcing to internet contests, this poster actually has me more pumped than anything I've seen from the official sources. For those unfamiliar here's the official synopsis.
In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy (Kinnaman) is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

The photos we're here to talk about leaked set photos the subject of which is being debated. As fans of the original 1987 ultra classic film know ED-209 is Robo's only real physical threat. It looks to me that the new movie will add another level of competition for Murphy, this will come in the form of the XT-908 Aerial drone that looks alot like the HK (Hunter Killer) from Terminator: Salvation, Enforcement Droid 209 (ED-209) and what I'm now guessing is the new top level baddie this drone version of Robocop himself. GeeksofDoom.com made a great comparison to the HammerDrones from IronMan 2.

Here's the pic we have of the unnamed drone that I'm guessing will become Murphy's greatest threat.

This idea differs from what alot of people are saying so I'll try to justify why ED-209 is going to take a back seat. First and most obvious is the physical limitations of the ED--209, namely navigating stairs or smaller spaces. Second is the general flow of technology. This drone, logically, would be an upgrade to Murphy here's why, the first model of something like this is never pilot-less. OCP would not think to remove the human element until after their creation stops being Robocop V.1 and starts reverting to Alex Murphy, they would realize the liability and immediatley go about correcting the issue. Technologically speaking if they had a version that worked fine without a human element there would be no reason to add one for a later version. For this reason I'm guessing that ED-209 will remain his lethal yet clumsy self and this drone or, more likely, drone(s) will be what Robocop has to overcome in the finale. I won't yet comment on what this says about the survival of the original films theme as an ending like this would surely seem to shift the film from veiled political commentary to straight up Sci-fi action. To be honest, I'm fine either way.

The second image we have is the image under debate...many are saying it shows Robocop in combat mode....I "enhanced" (my lack of any skill in this area gives us those quotation marks) the image to take away some of that light glare. What I see now makes me fairly certain that this second image is simply from when they are first rolling out the above prototype...as you can see he's on a wheeled dolly. Here's both versions.
