First clip of Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs in 'jOBS'

It takes an actor with amazing range to play both the most popular 70s moron of the sitcom world and possibly, the smartest most influential tech mind of the last 50 years. So was Ashton "Punk'd" Kutcher hiding some strange level of talent? Judge for yourself in this first clip from the new movie jOBS starring Kutcher as iGENIUS Steve Jobs and Josh Gad as his hairy partner Steve Wozniack.

Not surprisingly Kutcher, it seems, fails horribly. I don't think it's totally his fault as everything around his performance in this clip looks like a chinatown knock off. There's always something about movies that are destined to be ridiculed. It's like noticing the difference in a blockbuster summer movie and it's SyFy channel counterpart. Almost like everything seems a bit more fake but you really can't put your finger on why. Even Josh Gad, who I love, is bad. His hair and beard just look horribly fake and he seems to be doing that lisp that Hollywood thinks that all nerds do. As for Kutcher, he's not as horrible an actor as people make him out to be, but he only has one style of delivery regardless of content. Seriouly, watch an episode of That 70s Show where he has to show emotion, then watch The Butterfly Effect, than this clip. You'll see that each is the EXACT same character with different hair. It's sad really...Steve Jobs is this country's last real innovator, a person who made things happen in a world where we'd rather let things happen. He deserves a film that isn't easily confused with a straight to Lifetime special. If we can give Mark "I just wanna be a cool kid" Zuckerberg Oscar caliber talent why then does Jobs get stuck with the third string.

Check out the clip below.

SIDE NOTE: If they were going for a Jobs look-a-like as opposed to a talented actor why not Demetri Martin?
