Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, the kings of the top-grossing mediocre action thriller, will be teaming up later this year for...wait for it.....a mediocre action thriller. Who'da thunk it? The duo will be starring in 2 Guns, which is directed by Baltasar Kormakur, who last helmed the mediocre action thriller Contraband. Gauge your expectations accordingly.
The first image has arrived, and as one might expect it features Washington and Wahlberg looking mighty cool while packing some heat. Judging by the falling greenbacks, I'm assuming there was an explosion involving some rich a-hole who got on the duo's sh*t list. It's probably in slow motion, too. They play a pair of federal agents who go in on a mob robbery together and wind up on the run. The problem is that neither realizes the other is an undercover operative.
Ok, this might not actually be all that bad. In fact, I'm sure it'll probably be fun and utterly forgettable. Co-starring Paula Patton, James Marsden, and Bill Paxton, 2 Guns opens on August 16th.[JoBlo]
