Mackenzie Davis and Nicholas Braun join genre mash-up 'The Kitchen Sink'

One of the early stories from Park City this week has been the emergence of Mackenzie Davis for her role in Drake Doremus' Breathe In. With roles in comedies The F Word and Are We Officially Dating? coming up, she seems poised to join Elizabeth Olsen and Felicity Jones as recent Sundance darlings. And now her week gets a little bit better, as she's among the first to sign on for Sony's long-developing genre comedy, The Kitchen Sink.

You might recall awhile back the film had a ton of heat as Jonah Hill's possible directorial debut. Ultimately that didn't pan out, and about a year ago Robbie Pickering(Natural Selection) signed on for the job. Along with Davis, Red State star Nicholas Braun and Josh Fadem(The Eric Andre Show) are in talks to play major roles.

Based on a Black List script by Oren Uziel, the film follows a teenage human, vampire, and zombie who band together to repel an alien invasion. Filming is slated to begin this summer. [Variety]
