Vin Diesel continues to push the return of his intergalactic warrior in this year's Riddick, the third chapter in the franchise he began years ago with Pitch Black, then followed up by The Chronicles of Riddick. Written and directed by David Twohy, the R-rated film sees Riddick stranded on a desolate, scorched planet surrounded by vicious native creatures. His only hope of survival is to active a beacon, alerting his enemies to his whereabouts.
Diesel has dropped a brand new image via his popular Facebook page, showing Riddick brooding in the rain, no doubt trying to figure out how he's going to survive his current predicament. Katee Sackhoff, Dave Bautista, Nolan Funk, Jordi Molla, and Bokeem Woodbine join the returning Karl Urban when Riddick opens in IMAX on September 6th.
I'm consistently surprised by how many people are anxiously awaiting Riddick, given how disappointing the last film was at the box office. What's clear is that Diesel has cultivated a loyal following for the character.
