Recently granted a September release date, Vin Diesel's Riddick may turn out to be a surprise player this fall. The third official film in the franchise, there's no question that Diesel has cultivated a loyal fanbase following the morally ambiguous Furyan, largely due to the constant interaction he keeps with them through social networking. Case in point, Diesel has just released a brand new image on his Facebook page.
I'm curious, though. It's been a lot of years since the sleeper hit Pitch Black kicked things off, and I'm wondering if it still holds up? Might be worth a revisit, along with sequel The Chronicles of Riddick.
Directed by David Twohy, Riddick opens on September 6th. Check out the full plot synopsis below.
PLOT: "The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered.
