1st photo from Eli Roth's 'The Green Inferno'

It's been a lot of years since Eli Roth graced us with one of his bloody, messy horror films. Not since 2007's Hostel 2, to be exact, even though he's been keeping busy as a writer and producer. But let's be honest, we want to see what kind of nasty things have been cooking up in Roth's head for the last six years, and based on the first image from his next film, it looks like it involves a human feeding frenzy.

STYD have a photo from The Green Inferno, which Roth is directing based on a script co-written with Guillermo Amoedo (Aftershock). The Italian horror it's based on was also known as Cannibal Holocaust, so you probably have a good idea what's going. The story follows a student and some do-gooders who crashland in the Peruvian jungle and come across a cannibalistic tribe. Judging by the image, it's either dinner time or spring break gone wrong.

I'm expecting lots of gore and guts, and hopefully Roth won't disappoint. Starring  Lorenza Izzo, Ariel Levy, Aaron Burns, Daryl Sabara, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Magda Apanowicz and Sky Ferreria, we can probably expect to see The Green Inferno later this year.
