Jennifer Aniston, Kathryn Hahn, Eugene Levy, and Cybil Shepard join Peter Bogdanovich's 'She's Funny That Way'
Peter Bogdanovich may be considered something of a filmmaking legend, but it's been a very long time since he made a film that mattered. He may be on the verge of making a comeback with his latest film, which previously had the terrible title of Squirrel to the Nuts, but now has been retitled She's Funny That Way.
Already boasting an impressive cast that includes Brie Larson, Jason Schwartzman, Owen Wilson, and Olivia Wilde, Bogdanovich has now added Jennifer Aniston, Eugene Levy, Kathryn Hahn, and Cybil Shepherd. Written by Bogdanovich and his ex-wife Louise Stratton, the story follows a Broadway director who falls for a prostitute-turned-actress and works to further her career. Wilson will play the director while Aniston is a therapist whose mother is in rehab for alcoholism. Shepherd's worked with Bogdanovich numerous times over the years, most recently in Texasville.
Noah Baumbach and Wes Anderson are on board as producers, so there's some serious talent behind this one. Filming begins this June in New York.[THR]
