1st trailer for Hurricane Katrina drama 'Hours' with Paul Walker and Genesis Rodriguez
Fast and Furious isn't going to last forever, and Paul Walker has been preparing for life without Vin Diesel by attaching himself to every bland action thriller he can find. He's still a big enough name to attract gigs like Vehicle 19 or the upcoming Hitman reboot, but other than the family friendly Eight Below and the frenetic Running Scared (don't sleep, it's pretty awesome), there's not much to his resume worth celebrating.
Walker makes an attempt to show his dramatic skills in Hours, a natural disaster drama set against the backdrop of Hurricane Katrina. Marking the directorial debut of screenwriter Eric Heisserer (The Thing), the film has Walker starring alongside Genesis Rodriguez (Casa de mi Padre) as a New Orleans couple whose newborn baby is being kept alive on a hospital ventilator. But when the storm hits and the hospital is evacuated, he's left alone to fight Mother Nature, looters, flood waters, power outages, and more to keep the child alive. The trailer gives away far too much of the story (we know what happens to Rodriguez already), and looks like it could get pretty silly, but it's also nice to see Walker doing something other than playing Vin Diesel's boring wingman.
Hours has yet to secure a release date. Check out the trailer below....
