Amanda Seyfried joins Seth MacFarlane's 'A Million Ways to Die in the West'
It's easy to peg Amanda Seyfried as just another young actress swirling around the sappy romance drain, but her career has been anything but predictable. For every Letters to Juliet or Dear John, there's a Chloe or In Time. She's been broadening her horizons even more of late with mixed results, busting out her vocal chops in Les Miserables, and playing a porn legend in Lovelace. Now she's turning to the comedy route by joining the latest film from Seth MacFarlane.
THR reports that Seyfried will join A Million Ways to Die in the West (that title's gotta be shortened), MacFarlane's directorial follow-up to Ted and bringing back that film's co-writers. She'll play the girlfriend to MacFarlane's mild-mannered farmer, dumping him after he backs out of a gun fight. The newly-cast Charlize Theron is the wife of a notorious outlaw who teaches him how to shoot, with sparks flying between the two.
This is why it pays to be a famous filmmaker-turned-actor. You get to cast all sorts of hot chicks to play love interests. Production begins this May.
