Charlize Theron in talks for adaptation of Gillian Flynn's 'Dark Places'
Last May it was looking like Amy Adams would be starring in an adaptation of Gillian Flynn's novel, Dark Places, making this the third of her novels(along with Gone Girl and Sharp Objects) to attract some big name Hollywood talent. But it's been awhile without any real movement, and during that time Adams has dropped out, with another big name possibly stepping in to fill the void.
Deadline reports that Charlize Theron is circling the film now, possibly taking on the role of Libby Day, a woman who witness her family's murder, then testifies against her brother when he's tried for the killings. 25 years later, she finds herself brought before the secret, macabre organization known as The Kill Club, who want to learn the truth about what really happened.
Gilles Paquet-Brenner (Sarah's Key) is directing and adapting the screenplay. Hopefully this won't interfere with Theron co-starring in Seth MacFarlane's A Million Ways to Die in the West.
