After being largely out of the spotlight since his unceremonious exit from Grey's Anatomy, Isaiah Washington roared back into prominence at this year's Sundance Film Festival with a powerful performance in Blue Caprice. Directed by newcomer Alexandre Moors, the film has Washington stepping into the shoes of the "Beltway Sniper" John Allen Muhammad, in a deep and terrifying look at the bond he shared with Lee Boyd Malvo, played by the equally impressive Tequan Richmond.
I had a chance to sit down and have a spirited conversation with them about the difficulties in making a film on such a touchy subject (especially here in DC); dealing with such a small budget; and if playing Muhammad took Washington down some dark paths personally. So listen in and enjoy!
